Why JavaScript sites need special SEO tools
Modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, and no-code builders like Lovable and Bolt create stunning user experiences - but they share a common blind spot. The content is rendered in the browser, not on the server. When a search engine bot, AI crawler, or social media scraper requests your page, they receive a nearly empty HTML document with a bundle of JavaScript files.
Google's crawler can execute JavaScript, but it does so on a delayed schedule - sometimes days after the initial crawl. Other bots are less forgiving. ChatGPT's GPTBot, Anthropic's ClaudeBot, Facebook's link scraper, and LinkedIn's preview bot do not execute JavaScript at all. They read the raw HTML response, and if your content is not there, your page is invisible to them.
These tools help you diagnose exactly where the gaps are. Test your pages against specific crawlers, check your Open Graph tags, audit your technical SEO, and see the raw HTML that bots receive. Once you understand the problem, fixing it is straightforward - either with server-side rendering, static site generation, or a prerendering service like PageGlass that handles everything with one simple change.
